Do you hate to throw your favorite jeans in the
Trash when they wear out?

Don't throw them away!
Recycle them by making Denim Christmas Stockings!

Dear Friend,

Do you have a favorite skirt that doesn't fit anymore, but you just can't throw it away because it brings back fond memories? What about that pair of overalls that your toddler son wore out because he was always on his hands and knees playing with his trucks? Sometimes it is easy to throw old clothing away. Other times, it's painful!

Just think about throwing your daughter's favorite dress in the trash because it has chocolate ice cream stains on the skirt. You can't donate it to charity, because no one wants to wear stained clothing. But put it in the trash? Ouch!

I have the perfect solution! Recycle them! That's what I did with my family's favorite worn-out denims.

When my friend, Dawn, saw our Denim Christmas Stockings,
she told me that I should make Denim Stockings to sell on eBay.

But that wouldn't solve your problem. You would still have your unused denims taking up space in your closet. I came up with a different idea - one that is a better solution for you! I decided to make a DVD to show you how I made the stockings. When you purchase my DVD, you will see step-by-step how to use your favorite jeans to make a Denim Christmas Stocking!

The DVD is 58 minutes long. In it you will see exactly how I made the Denim Christmas Stocking shown below. But after filming the video, I thought of more useful tips that would make your task easier. Instead of filming them (which would have made the video too long), I wrote those suggestions in a report called "Kristine's Tips for Denim Christmas Stocking Construction" which you will receive as a bonus when you purchase the DVD.

This DVD is Perfect for you if:
  • You have worn-out jeans that you don't wear, but you don't want to put in them trash.
  • You have a favorite skirt that doesn't fit any more and you're tired of it taking up valuable space in your closet. (But you just can't part with it.)
  • You want to make Denim Christmas Stockings to give as a gift.
  • You need to purchase a unique gift for someone who sews. (Buy this DVD for that special someone!)
  • You want to preserve those unused clothes (and the precious memories) in a unique way.
  • You want to make a new Christmas Stocking for yourself.

Here's what Dawn had to say about it

Kristine has an incredible gift - a large mental library of what I call "legacy art." She has learned those amazing home-crafting skills that our great-grandmothers took for granted and now shares them with her daughters - and others - to help us leave a legacy.

Not only is Kristine sharing them, she is using them in a way that allows the incredible beauty of the skill to be displayed, as well as finding a real-life place for it in her home. While the rest of us may be tempted to "make do," Kristine is filling her home and the lives of her daughters with beautiful things, that will stand the test of time and create memories - both in the making and the enjoying.

These stockings are a part of that legacy. They are art in that denims that have seen better days have now become objects of visual delight. They are a legacy in that they hold memories of days gone by. Days we can't recapture, but will treasure always. How could you possibly look at a stocking made of your son's favorite overalls and not remember that the young man who is now 6' 1", used to be a little tow-headed toddler who was constantly underfoot?

That kind of skill is a gift - one that Kristine is now sharing with the rest of us in this video.
